Altman and Ali, and "brother from another mother," Andres grew up in inner-city Baltimore, a "war zone," and were determined to do something about it.

After graduating from college, they co-founded the Holistic Life Foundation, and returned to their old neighborhood to bring love and hope to a neighborhood in desperate need.

They began an after-school program in an elementary school for its "problem children" in which the children play, learn, and most importantly, have three fathers as mentors.

Mentoring father figures are crucial in a crime ridden neighborhood, in which many fathers have little or no involvement with their children.

The brothers also run a mentoring and meditation program in the local high school to help students find their balance and peace within themselves.
