A heartwarming mission that finds loving homes for shelter dogs.
In New York City, Bertha, a shelter dog sat comfortably in Bryan Reisberg's backpack, taking in the sights, while happily receiving head rubs and back scratches from loving strangers.
Bertha was rescued by Animal Care Centers of NYC.
Bryan volunteers with Animal Care Centers one day a week, bringing a different shelter dog in an "ADOPT ME" backpack as he shares each dog with everyone around them.
Bertha's outing included a bike ride, a subway visit, a walk, a new toy and a doggie treat.
Bryan's goal is to find each dog a loving home, and he has succeeded nearly 100% of the time.
As for Bertha, "The personality on this little girl, I truly did not want to leave her," Bryan told The Washington Post. "She was just trying to kiss and love on people."
Just days later, Bertha was adopted.

Bryan's shelter dogs have an advantage. He is a professional film maker.
He films each dog he takes out and shares a polished compilation on social media. On multiple social platforms, his videos have over 75 million views.
Bryan has been producing doggie content since 2015, when on social media he would share the antics of his corgi Maxine, whom he would bring around New York City in a backpack.
Maxine made a big hit.
More recently, "[Bryan] wandered in one day and asked if he could help," said Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society, which works with Animal Care Centers of NYC and thousands of other shelters and rescues around the country.
As for Bryan's success, "It reinforces the notion that shelter animals aren't broken," Julie told The Post. "They're really cool and looking for a loving home."
