Beef and Manny, a bulldog and his buddy who take slow, short walks together.
In Tucson, Arizona there are two unlikely buddies slowly getting in shape by walking together.
One is 4-year-old, 65-pound English bulldog Sir Charles Beeferoni ("Beef"), who until the start of 2025, refused to walk because as a bulldog, it can be hard for him to breathe.
The other is retired welder, 78-year-old Manny Miranda, who with his wife Esmeralda, live with their daughter America.
Beef began hanging out with Manny when he cleaned America's swimming pool, and later they would fall asleep together while watching TV.
America wanted them both to get in shape. Here is what happened:

Taking advantage of their Beef/Manny friendship, and knowing Beef would not walk with anyone else, she persuaded her father to begin walking him.
Accompanied by Manny, Beef waddles slowly down his driveway and inches onto the sidewalk.
He passes various homes, and when The Washington Post reported his story, he smelled a utility pole and then urinated on it.
Afterward, Beef crossed the street to another utility pole. He was then ready to have Manny start their journey home.
In all, they covered less than a quarter mile, in just under 30 minutes. They then took a nap, their snores reportedly echoing through their home.
From their beautiful friendship, the buddies have gained a large group of fans on Instagram who love to watch them online, taking their walks.
They walk every day but Thursday, because Beef is afraid of the garbage truck that arrives.
The exercise is paying off: Both man and dog are healthier and together, enjoying life much more, as they have formed a loving bond that each treasure.
