Blueberry, a one-year-old French bulldog mix and Meadow, a 9-month-old black kitty were taken to a Maryland veterinary hospital, where each lost a leg in life-saving surgery.

Homeless little Blueberry was found along a roadside, with her front left leg severely damaged, while tiny stray Meadow, was found missing part of her left hind leg.

Last Chance Animal Rescue, in Waldorf, Maryland where Blueberry and Meadow stayed, shared the duo's story on social media in March.

The post said the pair would need homes when Blueberry finished her rehabilitation. Meanwhile, the two adorable babies cuddled and played together through each step of their recovery, rarely leaving each other's side.

"Would we love to see them adopted together? Absolutely," the rescue group wrote. "But most importantly, we want loving homes where they will continue to thrive."

Many people wanted them to stay together. Last Chance was flooded with thousands of adoption inquiries from all over North America.

A couple from Fort Washington, Maryland, Rachel Clarke and Kevin Tsang, who have a three-legged cat, were selected to adopt Blueberry and Meadow.

"They are so happy and joyful and just excited to be living life," Rachel told The Washington Post.

The couple's other two cats, three-legged Cici, 10, and Sherlock, 11, sleep on their king-size bed each night. With time, Blueberry and Meadow will join them, everyone cuddled together.

"They've been through so much already," Kevin told The Post. "But yet they still have so much to offer through their love."
