Dog saved from a kill shelter, saves a man's life.
Four years ago, Katey and Rob Higgins of Watertown, Wisconsin adopted little Jagger, from the Watertown Humane Society.
"The Humane Society had rescued him from a kill shelter in Texas and saved his life," Katey told The Washington Post.
"We don't have children, so he's the light of our life," Katey added. "We've really incorporated him into our lives and wonder now how we ever did without him."
But on February 17th, tragedy struck.

It was minus three degrees in Watertown, as Katey was leaving Jagger with her parents. Despite the icy temperatures, Jagger ran outside and began barking non-stop.
"Jagger went into this intense stance and was barking toward the left back corner of the house," Katey said.
"He kept turning around to look at us [Katey and her dad], like he was telling us to do something."
To calm Jagger, they checked the property, and found a man lying in the snow.
"He was unresponsive and seemed to be unconscious," said Katey.
"But then Jagger kept barking, and the man's head moved a bit. We feared the worst because it was so cold."
Her dad called 911.
"They got him on a stretcher and took him to a hospital, and my dad said, 'Wow, your rescue [dog] just rescued a life.'"
"We were all in awe. If Jagger hadn't alerted us, I believe the man would have died out there."
It turned out the man had drug issues, but survived.
"We're just hopeful he has a new lease on life, and we hope he makes the most of it," said Katey, just as loving little hero Jagger is doing with his life.
