Leo the Tortoise Escapes Burning Shed.
In Fullerton, California when a fallen heat lamp sparked a fire in the shed little Leo the tortoise called home, she fled for her life.
This life-threatening incident happened February 8th 2026, according to Leo's human companion, Hyeri Tom, and was partially recorded on surveillance video.

As flames erupted inside the shed, Leo switched into what Hyeri called "sports mode" and hurried to escape.
The video shows the unharmed tortoise making a surprisingly swift getaway, as neighbors put out the fire before it could spread.
Hyeri shared the video on TikTok, encouraging others to secure their heat lamps. "This could've ended very differently," she wrote.
Fortunately, super speedster Leo sped away to safety.
