Super Santa Cruz Surfer Dog Skyler.
For many years, Skyler has dominated California doggy surf competitions, and in some of those competitions, she rides a surf board solo.
Homer Henard, her human companion and sometimes surfing partner, said he knew from the start Skyler would love surfing.
As a pup, the first time he took her to the surf, "She ran and jumped on the board," he told CBS News. "I see she had really good balance and I was like, 'Oh, it's on!'"

But at 15-years-of-age, Skyler is a very senior dog, and last year retired from surfing competition.

However, she remains very active. These days, she is a surf therapy dog, working with children with disabilities, wounded war veterans and others in need.
As she does, Homer says:
"And just this amazing thing happens, you know, where they're just smiling. I can almost see disabilities go away for a brief moment."
