This dog, Timothy, lived in the rear yard cage of a North Carolina home since he was a puppy. There was just enough room for him to pace back and forth, and little else for him to do.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) appealed to his human companion for four years, to allow them to find him a new home.
Finally, he agreed to give Timothy to PETA.

To transition him, Timothy lived in a foster home, where he was showered with love and affection, and plenty of open space with a range of playful activities.
When he was ready, Timothy met his forever human companions, who were deeply moved by his story, and relocated him to their home in Syracuse, New York.

There, those human companions, Lori and Michael welcomed him with love and hugs, and smiles and reassurance.
Timothy is in for a world of new adventures, including hiking and camping and being with people who are grateful to have him.
